The International Center for Combating Media Disinformation (ICCMD) is an independent global initiative operating under the International Organization for Press and Media Netherlands (IOPM).
The Center is dedicated to identifying false and misleading information, verifying public content, and promoting media integrity across digital platforms. ICCMD combines advanced verification methodologies, analytical research, and cross-border collaboration to detect, assess, and combating disinformation campaigns. A Global Commitment to Media Integrity
The International Charter for Media Integrity & Countering Disinformation is an international initiative launched by the International Center for Countering Media Disinformation (ICCMD).
The Charter establishes a voluntary professional framework that brings together media institutions, professional and academic organizations, journalists, researchers, and experts around shared principles and standards. It aims to strengthen media integrity, promote a culture of verification, and encourage international cooperation in countering media disinformation.
Who Can Join?
The International Charter welcomes both individuals and organizations committed to promoting media integrity and countering disinformation. Applicants can join by submitting the relevant application form and required information for review. Upon successful verification and approval, eligible applicants become Charter signatories and receive an official Certificate of Commitment.
Organizations
Media organizations, news agencies, media networks, journalists’ associations, syndicates, federations, universities, academic institutions, research and fact-checking centers, and other relevant professional organizations are welcome to apply and demonstrate their commitment to the Charter’s principles and standards.
Individuals
Journalists, media professionals, researchers, media integrity experts, fact-checkers, verification professionals, and other eligible individuals may apply to become signatories, demonstrating their personal commitment to ethical media practices, information integrity, and responsible communication.
